Oxygen concentrator for medical use “O2 Fresh-5G”

This product provides concentrated oxygen to patients with chronic respiratory disorders who receive domiciliary oxygen therapy.

The product includes a “smoke detection sensor” to which our automotive sensor technology is applied. When the product detects smoke such as cigarette smoke, it will seek attention with a newly adopted liquid crystal monitor in addition to audio guidance. Furthermore, the product also gives information on how to use the product and status of use with the pictures on the liquid crystal monitor and the audio guidance, leading to better user-friendliness.

What Is “Home Oxygen Therapy (HOT)?”

This therapy involves supplying air containing more oxygen than normal to patients suffering from chronic respiratory disease at their homes from an oxygen concentrator or other device. Oxygen treatment such as this is prescribed by doctors for patients with a lung condition such as respiratory failure or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) that prevents them from taking a sufficient amount of air into their bodies.

Principle of Operation of Oxygen Concentrator

Figure How Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Works

Air, the source gas for the concentrated oxygen that is supplied to the patient, is made up of about 20% oxygen and 80% nitrogen. High-concentration oxygen is generated by separating this air into oxygen and nitrogen inside the oxygen concentrator.
This oxygen concentrator uses pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology to suck in air via an air inlet which is then fed to an adsorption column by a compressor. Adsorption agent in the adsorption column adsorbs nitrogen, so air that passes through the adsorption column contains less nitrogen and more oxygen than normal to become oxygen concentrated air. The oxygen concentrator is equipped with two adsorption columns. While nitrogen is being adsorbed in one of the columns to turn air into high nitrogen content air, the other column discharges adsorbed nitrogen so that the adsorption agent is regenerated. Oxygen concentrated air is supplied continuously to the patient by alternately using the two adsorption columns in this way.
