Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensors
OZAS®-S1 (Zirconia Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor)
Application
This A/F control sensor generates a voltage of between 0 and 1 V depending upon the concentration of oxygen in the exhaust gas, and is most widely used as the central part of current exhaust gas cleaning systems. It has high performance and high reliability that enable it to meet the strengthened exhaust gas regulations, and contributes to clean air.
This sensor uses a quick start type high power heater (※FLO/※※FLO (U) type) in addition to a standard type heater. It functions as soon as the engine key is turned ON, and can greatly reduce HC during a cold start, thus meeting the severe emission regulations subsequent to LEV.
This sensor has characteristics that cope with the exhaust gas components on the downstream side of the catalyst, and is also used for correcting the oxygen sensor on the upstream side of the catalyst which guarantees long-term low emission.
Features
- Is of compact design and has excellent mounting freedom.
- Has excellent deposit resistance and achieves long life.
- Has excellent low temperature performance, and achieves a wide operating temperature range.
- Has excellent sealability to prevent the ingress of gasoline and water.
- After the engine key is turned ON, FLO starts to operate within 15 seconds, and FLO (U) within 10 seconds (40 seconds in the case of the standard type).
Long life is achieved in combination with heater control. - Supports a sub-feedback system for applications downstream of the catalyst, and also OBD judgment.
※FLO (Fast Light Off)
※※FLO (Ultra Fast Light Off)
OZAS®-S2 (New Type Zirconia Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor)
Application
This next-generation type exhaust gas oxygen sensor, which complies with the strengthened exhaust gas regulations in Japan, US and Europe, has enhanced durability and reliability and also higher heat resistance.
Features
- Has excellent heat resistance, enabling it to be used in more severe temperature environments than previously.
- Has markedly improved resistance to deposits, and achieves long life.
- After the engine key is turned ON, this sensor starts to operate within 8 seconds. This is a further improvement over the conventional FLO (U) type.
- Can also be used downstream of the catalyst.
ZFAS®-S2 (Thick Film Type Oxygen Sensor for Motorcycle)
Application
This is a compact, lightweight, high vibration resistant oxygen sensor will suited for motorcycle applications. Compared to a zirconia oxygen sensor intended for a 4-wheeled vehicle (OZAS®-S1), this sensor is extremely compact, requires little installation space, and achieves a quick start using only a small electric power.
Features
- Uses planar type element to reduce the dimensions and weight of the body.
- Has a highly vibration resistant structure, making it optimum for use on a motorcycle which has a high engine speed.
- The device and the heater are integrated, realizing low power consumption and quick start operation. This sensor can also meet future cold start emission regulations.
- Is of a completely waterproof construction, so does not require reference atmosphere when installed on a motorcycle where it is exposed to water, oil, coolant, and so on.
OZAS®-S3(Zirconia Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor for Motorcycle)
Application
This is a heater-less type oxygen sensor intended for a small single cylinder motorcycle. It can be used without any need for electric power. In addition to being compact, light, and resistant to vibration in order to meet the demands of motorcycle use, the sensor employs a unique cap construction for easier assembly.
Features
- The sensor is of a heater-less construction which does not require electric power, but instead makes effective use of heat received from the exhaust gas. It thus avoids reduction of power resulting from increased electrical generating capacity.
- Compact, light, and highly resistant to vibration due to design specifically intended for a motorcycle
- Employs a cap construction for easier assembly.
ZFAS®-U2(Quick Start Type Universal A/F Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor)
Application
This is an advanced A/F control sensor which generates an output corresponding to the concentration of oxygen in the exhaust gas, and covers the entire region from λ=1 point precision control to lean burn control. In addition to a gasoline engine, it can also be used with a gasoline DI engine and a diesel engine.
This next-generation universal sensor can meet future exhaust gas regulations, has improved durability and reliability, and realizes quick starting.
Features
- Highly accurate output over the entire region
- Completely waterproof construction which does not necessitate a reference atmosphere
- Has excellent heat resistance and can be used in a high temperature environment.
- The device and the heater are integrated with each other, enabling the sensor to start within 5 seconds after the engine key is turned ON.
XCU®-UA(Application Specific IC (ASIC) for ZFAS®-U Sensor)
Application
The ZFAS®-U sensor exhibits its performance when combined with XCU®-UA (ASIC). This ASIC is an interface circuit between the sensor and the CPU, and outputs exhaust gas A/F sensor signals, and so on.
Features
- Measurement range: A/F10 ー Atmosphere
- The device temperature of the universal A/F sensor can be controlled.
- Mounted on the engine control computer (ECU)
ZFAS®-N2(NOx Sensor (under development))
Application
This sensor can simultaneously measure the NOx concentration and the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas. It contributes to energy conservation and clean air through NOx control in gasoline DI engines and diesel engines.
Features
- Real time, simultaneous measurement of NOx concentration and O2 concentration.
- Quick response.
- Completely waterproof construction that does not necessitate a reference atmosphere.
