ERAS®-KN(Non-Resonant Knock Sensor)
ERAS®-KR(Resonant Knock Sensor)
Application
This is a knock sensor which detects knocking vibration of the engine using a piezo-electric ceramic. It is used for ignition timing control, and contributes to improved engine performance and reduced fuel consumption. There are two types of sensors, a non-resonant type and a resonant type.
Features
- The frequency characteristics of a non-resonant knock sensor are flat between 5 and 15 kHz, which is the region in which knocking occurs, so the sensor can be used regardless of the type of engine and is highly versatile.
- The resonant knock sensor itself has resonance characteristics, enabling it to produce a large output when knocking occurs.
GPS(Gasket Type Pressure Sensor (under development))
Application
This sensor can be installed on the gasket of the spark plug to detect the engine combustion pressure and knocking of each cylinder.
Features
- Can be easily installed using the seat of the plug.
- Knocking even within a high speed region can be detected.
- The combustion pressure peak can be detected.
- Can be used for combustion control, including MBT (Minimum Advance for Best Torque), lean limit, and EGR limit.
EGAS®-A (Air Quality Sensor)
Application
This sensor is used for a system that automatically switches over the air conditioner between recirculation mode and fresh air mode (auto ventilation control system). It is a gas sensor that judges the quality of the air around the automobile.
Features
- This is an intelligent type gas sensor that contains a microprocessor in the sensor unit.
- It is possible to separately detect CO which is emitted mainly from gasoline vehicles, and NO2 which is emitted from diesel vehicles.
- As a result of NTK's unique signal processing method, it is possible to perform accurate gas detection.
- As the next generation sensor, a unique device that uses MEMS technology is currently being developed, aiming at greater compactness, reduced power consumption and higher performance.
